I’ve had an interest in historic diamonds for many years and I’ve seen a number of different replicas of them put forward, but none I know of have been as accurate as Scott’s. I’ve also helped him retro-engineer the facet layout of the Florentine diamond, no small feat considering the stone’s unusual facet pattern and lack of symmetry. Scott is also the only cutter I’ve known or read of who has successfully tackled the Orlov diamond, a 189-carat Mogul cut stone that is wildly unsymmetrical.
